I am a self-taught dabbler of art. I’ve always been interested in it, but pursued a scientific profession that paid the bills. I started to focus on art and teach myself techniques right before I retired in 2025. I was a nurse for 40 years and found that art helped me to not focus on stressful things.
I never wanted to commercialize my art until people started expressing interest. As a result, I have participated in a few local art showcases, created merchandise such as cards and clothing, and have done commissions, primarily of people’s pets. I had a shop online, but have since closed it due to lack of activity. Also, the cost of shipping is more than I can justify charging.
I do not have merchandise ready for sale. Most of my art can be turned into greeting cards, prints, or some apparel. If you see something in the Galleria or even the Sketchbook that you’d like printed onto something, let me know through the Contact page.
Thank you for your ongoing interest and support. A quote a came across recently sums up how I feel about this:
Your sketchbook is for you: As mentioned above, the internet is full of gorgeous sketchbook examples. But sketchbooks shouldn’t be thought of as being for public consumption: they’re about artistic growth and growth can be weird and painful. —Abigail Halpin
